The River

Meaning

The River represents release and flow.
It’s the moment you stop gripping the edge
and discover that movement doesn’t break you —
it frees you.

Resistance doesn’t always keep you safe.
Sometimes it only keeps you tired.

Reflection

Flow isn’t surrender.
It’s choosing to move with truth
instead of wrestling what already wants to carry you forward.

When you stop forcing, rhythm returns.
When you stop bracing, clarity rises.
And when you let go,
you may notice the current has been carrying you longer than you realized.

Freedom begins where resistance ends

[Verse 1]
My hands were tight
on solid ground.
I thought that meant
I’d be safe if I stay.
But something in me
heard the sound
of water moving
… anyway.
[Verse 2]

I held the edge
like it was right.
Like holding on
was how you fight.
But rivers don’t
care where you stand.
They just keep moving
through the land.
[Chorus]

The river takes
what I release.
Not to drown me —
just to bring me peace.
And when I stop
holding the edge,
I see the water
carry me instead.

[Verse 3]
No map appears.
No voice explains.
Just steady water
after strain.
And step by step
the fear grows small
when I stop fighting
it all.
[Bridge – spoken]
Flow isn’t giving up.
It’s realizing
you don’t have to fight everything.
[final Chorus]
The river takes
what I release.
Not to drown me —
just to bring me peace.
And when I stop
holding the edge,
I see the water
carry me instead.
[Outro]
you don’t have to fight everything

Archive – earlier versions

[Verse 1]

I held the edge

with both closed hands,

thinking stillness

meant I’d stand.

But nothing holds

when tides decide —

you learn to float

or break inside.

[Verse 2]

I fought the pull,

I braced the bend.

I wore resistance

like a friend.

But water waits

for no one’s plan —

it moves the stone

and shapes the land.

[Chorus]

Let it take you,

not away —

but where you’ve

meant to go anyway.

You’re not lost

when you let go —

you’re just

in the flow.

[Instrumental]

[Verse 3]

No map,

no shore,

no final line —

just rhythm

you can call

divine.

It doesn’t ask.

It only shows

that every current

knows.

[Bridge]

The strength I needed

was never in the fight —

it came

the moment

I moved

with the light.

[Final Chorus]

Let it take you,

not away —

but where you’ve

meant to go anyway.

You’re not lost

when you let go —

you’re just

In the flow.

[Outro]

I’m not holding back.

Just in the flow
